Flame on
The runner just exploded into flames, and now the defense has to try to tackle a moving bonfire!
~ Grim Blitzrow

Flame On is one of the Dirty Tricks the players can use in Mutant Football League. It is available only to the offense, although the defense has the similar Zap attack dirty trick available.

This dirty trick sets up a toss play to the running back. Once the running back gets the ball, he will emit flames that will damage any defender that touches him. The damage is increased if the running back actively breaks a tackle. Damage from Flame On can also set a defender on fire, causing continual damage until the flames die out.

The flame effect lasts for a limited time. Once it wears off, the running back can be tackled normally again.

Trivia[ | ]

  • This Dirty Trick is a reference to the Marvel Comics character Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch, one of the Fantastic Four. He often calls out, "Flame on!" whenever he activates his powers on which the Dirty Trick is based.
    • In Fantastic Four: The Animated Series, he sings a song of the same name in the episode The Mole Man.
